On my way!!!!

Well folks, as of today I am officially down 13 lbs. I've got a week to my birthday and while I'm I likely won't make it to a full 20 by then, I am still quite happy about my achievements. Lots to celebrate! You'd better believe I will reward myself on my birthday with...you guessed it...a new dress! :D

The secret to losing 13 lbs? While exercise has played a huge role, the biggest factor was changing my diet to eating 5-6 times a day and keeping a general rule of no sugars/simple carbs after 2pm. I increased my protein as well and tried to keep at 1500 calories a day. 7-8 hours of sleep are also crucial, which means occasionally I had to squeeze a nap in there. A healthy amount of sleep (especially for women) lowers your stress levels and decreases your chances of heart disease. Rest is just as important as staying active, so maintaining a good balance of both has been a huge help to me. :)
